Chess set
Bang* - 2005
Get ready for war! A study insheet metal manufacturing processes, this chess set combines visions of knightstemplar with modern industrial sophistication. Whilst the world may exist inshades of grey rather, our antagonists have clearly chosen which side of themoral divide they lie. The opposing armies stand firm to their resolve inpolished chrome, pristineand pure reflecting all that is there to seeand glossy black the representative of the forces of darkness, ultimate evil.

Whilst most objetsd'art in the modern Indian cultural landscape have either ethnic pretensions orare symbols of rudimentary manufacturing or handicraft processes, this pieceexudes Bauhaus, being egalitarian, born of mass manufacturing processes. Italso hearkens to the history of that land which gave us Bauhaus, to that era ofthe Knights Templar on their crusades. The fields of war have been left as they are, rich green and clear unspoilt atthe start, neither good nor evil, but of nature omnipresent in all its richnessand greenery as symbolized by the glass base with frosted squares.
